I saw an article on FB with an illustration of a woman curled up on the couch, she has her head in the guy's lap, the article implies that this is a sign that you should make a move, it seems to me more of a friendly gesture on tthe woman's part? What would you think?
So, according to the article, they're dating, but haven't gotten very physical yet? But she's clearly comfortable with him. Everything depends on the individuals involved. There's no 1-size-fits-all set of rules. One guy could make a move in a scene like that, and the situation could develop to the next level. Another guy could make a move, with a different gal, and it could backfire horribly. There is no boilerplate way to gauge a situation. You have to know the person you're dealing with, in order to gauge that.

Basically.
OP this stuff is common sense.
If you have to look THIS hard, then you're not with the right person.
At this rate you're probably already there, no worries.
