Do women think it's cool or not for a guy to have vanity/custom/personalized license plates? One of my friends has license plates that read "BOO YA" for his car. (To protect the guilty, I won't mention the state!) Another friend told him that he should ditch it b/c women will be turned off by it. I don't see a problem w/ it. What do women think?

BTW, this friend is not me!

I'm making this a poll as well.

I would wonder why he chose that for his license plate and I might even chuckle a little bit. Yes, I'm easily amused. It wouldn't have any effect on the intriguing/appealing factor for me though.

He wanted something different than the random letters and numbers his state would've given him. His first choice wasn't available (variant of his name). So he went with something that he thought sounded cool.

It all depends on what is on the plate. BOO YA sounds immature.

I agree, it depends on what the plate says. Ive seen some real non-impressive ones.

I've always thought vanity plates to be a silly expense, male or female.

It wouldn't be a deal-breaker, but "Boo ya" comes close!

I'm a guy. But I have to say that I think vanity tags are a decided character flaw--a pathetic plea for attention.

My exwife and I were behind a car in NH and the whole time we couldn't figure out why someone would put that on their license plates -- it just didn't make sense, I mean WHY would he do that. Then I noticed the car was an SI. The vanity plate was making a statement about his car (this is a true story BTW).

The licence plate read:

SIFLYS

Speaking of funny and true stories, a friend, who at the time lived in NJ, said he saw a Toyota Prius w/ the following license plates:
F OPEC
