Not really. Personal appearance you have Some control over. Staying in shape, looking after yourself.
Grooming, the clothes you wear. Can all improve that.
For the record I have only called her a "supermodel" two, maybe three times. I don't anymore for the reasons stated. However, as she does like to dress with really cute/feminine tops/outfits I will tell her she looks good in it, or say the blouse/skirt/dress she is wearing looks nice and she really likes that.
If it's sincere, flattered and appreciative. They're never insincere, and the same applied to past partners.
I will say, I will think he's being endearingly silly, though genuine, when he says things like "hot" and "sexy" when I'm not all done up since I view both terms as a process that requires effort or a ritual of makeup, outfit, etc. When I'm in regular clothes, lounge clothes, or having just woken up, I don't necessarily think/feel "hot." Lol
He mostly says beautiful, or greets me that way, or hottie. Lol It's sweet. When he comments on specific attributes, that's cool, too, especially if I like them as well.
Back when I chopped off my hair, like the photo below, he gave me tons of compliments about my hair. He fancies short hair. I loved it, too.

The last compliments I got about my looks was "I like your nails" said by my male boss is comments on my nails and shoes a lot. Not sure if this is actually a compliment about my beauty lol.
