Male in my mid 30s and I'm not on an social media. I've never been on any dating apps before, should I give this shot?

Essentially, who is Bumble for?

I've tried it a couple times.

Similar to my experience with Tinder, when you first create an account you will get a couple matches in a short amount of time, then none after a week. So the algorithm is rigged to get you hooked like your first drug high.

The average woman looks way more attractive on Bumble than Tinder. It's obvious that their algorithm sorts attractiveness and pushes attractive profiles (many of them inactive profiles) to the front of the queue.

Another thing is that it doesn't filter out your Facebook friends.

During my dating time, I've used Bumble, Tinder, OK Cupid, Match, POF and Zoosk simultaneously.
My theory was to cast as many lines into the dating sea as possible to increase my chances of finding the best catch.
It's all a numbers game.
That small investment paid off tremendously.
I was able to talk and date a wide variety of woman and hone in who I would invest most of my time.
Bumble proved to be the winner.
The quality of woman is definitely a step above Tinder, about the same as Match.
POF and Zoosk had many flakers.
The idea for a woman to make that first step if both matched was at first frustrating but proved to be the key.
The woman feels empowered to make that decision and you know that the chances of meeting and perhaps dating is in your favor.
I met a fantastic woman on Bumble and we've been dating exclusively for 6 months and going strong!
Online dating can be frustrating but going about it as a social experiment (don't get too serious on the sheer number of 'wasters' and taking the opportunity to know more about yourself in the process can alleviate the BS.
Quite winded here but I would highly recommend Bumble. (NYC area)

This is the only app where I haven't met a guy in person. I have used the Bumble BFF and made friends on it though.

I liked it. I think you need to be on Facebook for it though, no?

Correct.

As for Bumble, I like it for sure, especially here in NYC.

Bumble, I had no luck on and probably better that I don't use it anyway. Since it puts the onus on the girl to approach, goes against my rule to reject any girl who approaches first.

Yeah, seems like the traffic has moved away from Tinder to Bumble over the last couple of years.

What's your theory behind this rule of yours?
