13 or 14...I can't recall for sure exactly when we first started being a "thing." He was 19 then though, I do remember that. I was very impressed with the fact that he had a pickup truck. I broke up with him early in my 9th grade year, and had a few others, and he briefly came back into my life a while later, before I truly and finally decided he was a loser and I wanted him gone.

13. So began the most complicated two and a half weeks of my life. I cannot even begin to describe the relief when she found someone else who wasn't too nervous to try for a clumsy snog behind the bike sheds. That meant I could go back to watching Doctor Who, reading Sherlock Holmes, collecting comics and losing myself in music. Nigh on thirty years later, nothing has changed.

I just, out of curiosity, of which I've had NONE in the 24 years since I last saw this boy, looked him up on social media to see what became of him.

You know, it's really strange how we get a memory of someone locked into our brains, and then we look them up online for the first time in a bajillion years, and they are completely different. He used to be skinny, really lean and trim...he's gained a lot of weight over the years. I had to peer at his face and imagine my memory of it, seeing the echo of expressions I was familiar with, to really be convinced that was him. But yeah. Sure was. And he had a snappy little goatee back then, which is now gone, but at least he's not balding.

I'm not interested in contacting him or anything, I was just curious enough to look for a photo or two.

First romantic attraction, with hormones and everything? Probably about 12.

First dating-type relationship, where we actually did things together outside of the school setting? 15-16. I wasn't allowed to date unchaperoned (outside of school dances like the Homecoming dance) until I was 16, but I had the same boyfriend from 15-16, and I was allowed to go over to his house as long as his parents were home, and to go out to movies, etc. if we went with his older (college age) sister and her boyfriend.

I have you beat by 2 years. But chances are you put in more effort than I do.
