Never been in that situation before. Dated a girl who I knew has had more "experience" than me. Her family was kinda infamous for being show off-isa of their wealth etc. Although we were complete opposites, we had this undeniable physical attraction for each other. One thing lead to another, we dated a few times. My older sibling as a joke told my mom that we're getting serious which wasn't true. At this point, I already stopped seeing her but she asked if I was intimate (sexually active) with her when in reality all we had was one dinner date and a few coffee dates and we never even really hit it off/kissed due to a lot of extenuating circumstances in our lives.

Depends on the career you both would be pursuing, the age of your parents and the type of person they do consider suitable for you.

I would choose the money bc there's billions of people in the world so the odds that she's your soulmate are slim. However, financial freedom is awesome.

Ah, yeah, it's not that easy or simple for some people, lol.

But regardless, my dating life is/would be none of my parents business. If they really were going to cut me out of their will over it, then so be it.

You think it would end there? Your parents would basically be holding hostage of your life. Do what they would want, or get cut out of their will. F that...

1) OP how old are you? And, how long might you have to wait for this "inheritance" (which is usually taken to mean after their death).

2) DO you know why your parents are saying this, and giving you this ultimatum?

I'd imagine it doesn't happen as often these days. But, I'm sure people know there are prejudiced people out there still who would cut off a child for marrying the "wrong type" -- or a person "who's not like us" -- or "won't fit in." Certain religion groups, and ethnic prejudices lead to this. Is that a good reason? Not all parents have valid reasons at all......could the other person be an older meth addict sure.

So OP it would be helpful if you could explain more about WHY you think your parents are leaving the way they are.

3) Is this even a real scenario or a hypothetical question?

My question was more generalized to situations like when Jewish parents want their children to marry only within the community.

I think the best option is not to disclose to your parents who you're dating if you already know they won't approve.
