When you women are out and about in daily life, you might have men make small talk with you in the grocery line or wherever. Do these men ever make the bold move of asking you out on a date or getting your phone number? If yes, how often does this happen?
I've never done such a thing myself, but I always wanted to try it just to see what happens That is of course if I sensed that she liked me.
Well, yes but more so when I was younger. I’ve been proposed to twice by guys I had never met before & 4-5 times by guys I knew casually. But don’t base any personal actions on my experiences; I dont think I am typical.
The guys I didn’t know were just being goofy (pretty sure). One was an on-duty paramedic & he was hysterical!
I did give out my phone number & I never used a fake one. Didn’t mean there was a promise for a date; just meant you had my number. I’ve gone out with a lot of guys who just randomly approached me & my friends all thought I was nuts.
Don’t care. I’m friendly.
If I go out to a club where there is dancing I always accept a request to dance. Have to decline a drink though; I kind of made a personal rule about drinking when I go out: I don’t. I know how vulnerable that would make me because I have no “creep filter”.
Okay, so I’m 50 now. It doesn’t happen as much. It happened day before yesterday at a gas station. About 4 nights ago at a 7-11 & the last time before that was about two months ago at a Walmart, of all places.
Yes, but that was years ago. Today I wear a ring. And I am not a young woman. But all through my 20s and early 30s, before 2002 or so, I did literally get asked out by strangers.
Because I am older now and am obviously married I can't say whether it is only sensible that guys aren't doing this with me, or whether guys don't approach anymore like they did at one time.

When I am single and in need of dates, I approach women all the time in non-bar venues and ask them to join me for drinks somewhere. Since you mentioned grocery store approaches, grocery stores have been one of my favorite venues of all the non-bar options. The checkout line is the worst place within the store to do an approach. Much better to do it somewhere within the store, pretty much any aisle. Produce area is a good option. If I see an attractive woman and am looking to do grocery approaches, I'll either comment on something in her basket or if she has a shirt on that I have an opinion on, I'll start on that.

I'm sure some do. I know they do. Can't imagine it personally as I would have no reason to ask someone out I'm not attracted to in some way. But each to their own.
It's happened, but I can probably count the number of times it's happened in my whole life on one hand.
