I was in grad school, struggling with my Masters thesis and missing my long-distance fiance. I was at the end of my rope, spending hours and hours in the computer lab, stressed out of my mind, crying to him on the phone, and he drove 9 hours to spend the weekend to surprise me, sit with me in the tech lab with me working away, bringing me food, etc.
Definitely a keeper. Our 20th anniversary is Monday!
Only happened once. Was dating a lady going through a divorce. She had two boys. On one date night her boys had a sleep over thus giving her and I the home alone. I’m an early riser and got started cleaning the kitchen. I had the dishes done, horizontal surfaces wiped down, and was nearly finished sweeping the floor when she woke up and walked into the kitchen. With tears in her eyes she said, “can I keep you”.
