Now I have a new surname and I control the family business. I changed my surname without a hyphenated name. I have me new surname over a month but I can't get used to it. Do you have any ideas on how to become accustomed to my surname?

I remember your post. The more you use it, and write it, the easier it will be. It will take time.

It takes a little time. I recall once a receptionist at my Dr.'s office trying to catch my attention. Her "Mrs. X, Mrs. X!!" just wasn't working. It took a bit to realize she was talking to ME. Lol.

Best of luck to you!

In junior high I remember seeing girls writing their names over and over.

Congratulations, and thank you for the update! Enjoy your new surname! It will grow on you.

...hopefully.

I very enjoy my surname. Everybody in my environment understands why I changed my surname. I've already got a new ID card and driver's license and designed my new signature. My wife is also happy she didn't have to change the surname.

I think the odd feeling when I introduce myself will pass in time.

I knew a gal whose husband's last name was Bimbo. I told her she should keep her maiden name and him consider taking hers....LOL

Get used to it. It might takes time, though.
Don't understand what's the big deal with the adjustment. Most women assume their husband name without agonizing over it.

I changed my name when I got married. At the time, I was working in a school, where I heard my new name all the time, and had to sign my new name a billion times a day. The transition was easy because of that...just writing it and hearing it consistently.
