I've always been curious about something........are most women who are shorter than average (lets say 4'10'' to 5'2'') self conscious about their height and wish they were taller?

Obviously for guys who are short, most are very conscious about it since women usually prefer taller guys, but I'm curious if women who are short mind it, or if it doesn't bother them?

It doesn't bother me (5'2") in the dating world, although I feel like a little dog trotting alongside Gumby with a tall man. It also allows me to find all sorts of men appealing, height not a concern at all.

It bothers me in simple daily things, like mounting a horse or reaching an upper cabinet. Very annoying. The guy who built my house was 6'4" and I reminded him that I am... not.

Have never worn heels (foot surgery in my teens) so can't lean on that as an answer.

Height threads aren't permitted in this forum. Being short for a woman is generally typical and not something to feel overly bothered about. Women who are taller than average may feel more self-conscious.

The only thing “short” here will be the length of time this thread stays open

I used to be 5' 3". I have shrunk over the years and am now about three inches shorter. The only thing I mind is the inconvenience.

I cannot reach shelves in my kitchen that I used to be able to. I routinely ask people to help me get things off of high shelves in stores. I even have had to raise the driver's seat in my car.

Major benefit is an ordinary guy can probably pick you up and sling you over his shoulder in an emergency.

The little women I've known, don't seem at all unhappy with their stature. As another woman, they look so tiny to me. They can wear anything and buy it in the kid's section, lol. But I would guess having to "look up" to almost everyone, would get old.

You'll probably live longer and be more agile, gymnastic, etc. like the little women I've known.

Not all short women are tiny though! I buy shirts from the men's section- to get wide enough shoulders and chest room.

Apologies if this participation is against the rules. I thought the height posting thing referred to men's heights.

Yeah, hadn't thought of that. I am just jealous of their fashions! I too have to buy a lot of guy's stuff to get the *ahem* room in those same areas.
