I don’t consider myself a “girl.” I’m a grown woman.

Once when a coworker and I went to lunch together, the server was man probably 20 or so. We were in our 40s. He referred to us as girls when taking our order. I found it mildly amusing, condescending, and annoying all at the same time.

Depends on context. Like with a lot of things, it may be well received if you're friends with the person or poorly received if you don't know them well.

Do men resent being called "boy?"

There was a thread here years ago about calling women "guys" generically as a group and it was a ****show here.

I suspect the same with this thread.

When a young lady is 17, or over, i think most wouldn't like being called a girl.
