HELL YES!
I met her at school. She was a bombshell. Didnt seem too bright but I figured, she goes to college...how slow could she be!?
FYI: I was about 19 so still quite young in the "real" dating scene. She was 18 or 19.
Picked her up and was driving to the restaurant. She gets a phone call, answers it, and spends just about the entire trip (5-10 mins) talking on the phone with her friend. Strike 1...
We are eating at the restaurant, and she gets another phone call from another friend. Yep, she answered it (Strike 2) and begins talking on the phone for another 5 or so minutes (Strike 3)...
I get up, gesture that I need to use the restroom. But I walked over to the waitress and tell her that I want to pay. The waitress seemed to know what I was doing since she acted quick, and told me that they would tell my "date" that I was in the restroom. I took off!!!!
Put my phone on silent and drove straight to my friends' house. We all lauged about, had drinks, played poker. She called about 10 times and left 3 voicemessages and 5 texts! ROFL. The first text/voicemessages she was wondering where I was if everything was okay (thinking I was still in the bathroom as if I fell in).
After she found out, about half an hour later (I kid you not), she ended up basically calling me a jerk and an ******* and everything else.
A few weeks later I ran into the same waitress at the same restaurant. We talked briefly about what happened. Apparently, my "date" stayed at the restaurant for a full hour after I left, including the time she waited for her friend to pick her up. I thanked the waitress for helping me out, asked her for her phone number, and went out with her at a later time.
whoa! you hooked up with the chick that helped you ditch another lol so funny!
ok, since I am new I am gonna put it way out there. I actually left a guy sitting at a table waiting for me and left with another who was...cuter.
Go ahead. Get your flame sticks ready.
LOL....
Helllooooooooo, welcome to CD....hope you enjoy it here, some really great people and topics!!!!!
As I had left the table giving an excuse to leave *headache, wardrobe malfunction, etc. I see this one guy I had met and talked to at other places.
He was with a couple friends at the bar of the restaurant. Found out they would be meeting up at a place I LOVED GOING TO. He asked, I accepted.

I had a date that did'nt start because the woman showed up with her kid. She could'nt get a babysitter apparantley. I stormed out of the restaurant as she yelled obscenities at me. I have no regrets about this.

Why did she yell obscenities? Leaving is the best when someone gets upset, but her child was with her?
Was it a total surprise to find out about the child? Did you think of
making changes to accommodate the "new" addition?

LOL thats not funny but it actually is because my girlfriends try to do this to me all the time. We make plans to go to a bar and they will show up with their kids and Im like- no, they cant come! Or they will meet me at the cinema at 10pm and ask if we can see a disney movie instead of the rated R choice. Im like no, i dont want to see freakin' Walle-E I wanna see Max Payne!!
It was really rude on your part to not inform her that picking up the cell phone on your date was irritating you. Why didn't you just speak up? I would have said "Hey, do mind not answer your phone? Please." Now, if she just ignored me and rolled her eyes then maybe I would have walked out on her.
Also I wouldn't have left her dateless unless she was really unattractive and very unfriendly/anti-social towards me.

A lot of these people sound equally as selfish toward their selfish or clueless dates...
