I don't go out and immediately bring up all the past issues I had with my exes, but the past few guys I've dated have brought it up first. They want to figure out "what's wrong with me" that I haven't been married yet. Like being divorced a bunch of times would be better? I try to gloss over the breakups by saying things like "it just didn't work out" or "we wanted different things" not telling the guy that the "different things" were that I wanted a happy life together, and he wanted to go out and **** someone else.
I get the same thing from women. I'm in my 30s and I've never been married. A lot of women wonder why. I know plenty of people my age who are already divorced or on their second marriage. But I stopped caring what people might think of me. I know exactly why I haven't been married. It's cause I haven't met the right person yet. The dating scene is full of people who like to judge.
Mathguy, it's never fun to be penalized for other people's mistakes. There are so many guys out there who give men in general a bad reputation that the rest of us end up paying for it and feeling like we have to apologize, or worse, be extra nice to make up for it. And us men are just as guilty of judging women based on what other women have done. We hear about women who cheat, who chase after money, who lie, etc., and we start to wonder if all women are like that. The plus side of being cynical like that is that it makes you appreciate the ones who don't live up to that image.
Mathguy, that's your main car? Don't you have two kids? I guess one of them rides in the hatch?
Yep. I bought it as a gift to myself, not surprisingly....it makes me happy.
If I have had a bad day....music loud, little drive watching the sunset etc. and it's almost theraputic.
My kids ride the bus to school. I drive that mostly to work, dates (duh!), grocery store if the kids aren't in tow etc.
When we go places together we roll in my bare bones toyota corolla.
Road trip! Sorry, but my main car only has 2 seats....so it's either ride in the hatch or we need to get something large!
Hmm... what if a lady wants to join? What happens to Sunil's Dad then...?
