A guy asked me out and paid the dinner, but when we were in a bar, he told me he has no cash, and I paid for the drinks which is ok.
But no cash? why did he ask me to go to the bar after dinner and made me pay it?

I would think that most men would definately pay for the first date.
Maybe he's broke. But when I was on a date, I footed the bill for everything. Call me old-fashioned, but I just couldn't let my dates pay for a thing.
It's amazing how many pathetic losers evidently are around... Remember there was this thread about how it can happen to everybody. Yeah, right... Not to anybody I'd care to be around...
I have to admit that there was once when, years ago, I forgot to pay a credit card bill. No, I wasn't broke. I just totally forgot to pay. So my card was declined for drinks. She immediately offered to pay the bill. I was so embarrassed that we immediately drove to an ATM after drinks so I could pay her back. I was just mortified.
The person doing the asking should pay. CPG, you sound like a class act. That can happen to anyone, but you handled it well, IMO.
I was on a dating site for a while and split the bill about half the time. I have no problem with this whatsoever when it is discussed ahead of time, but, to me, it says a lot about the man if he pays when he is the one asking me out and there has been no previous discussion of splitting the bill.
Oh, women secretly loathe modest men, don't you agree? Of course, they don't like arrogant ones either. Instead, self-confidence expressed in a semi-cocky, semi-ironic fashion seems to be the irresistible middle ground.

Yeah, that's about right. You're somewhat leaning towards the bragging side, though, my dear friend!
