Men don't seem to have different catagories. If they are good looking/attractive then they are sexy.
I've noticed this as well...not that men don't have different "categories" (it seems they think about this much more than I ever will), but they seem to equate whatever they find attractive as beautiful or sexy. It's rare a man will say a woman is attractive, but not not sexy or beautiful or even cute or pretty. I've seen many women admit someone they find physically attractive is pretty much ugly though.
That's why I made the thread - to get people to examine their perspectives, what they really are drawn to, and how they'd define it in someone else.

If I understood you correctly, I'd like to tell you I am a rare man, then.
I've come across numerous women who were physically good-looking, even sexy - but unattractive. I remember two early 20s girls I saw flagging a cab once. They were apparently in an unfamiliar part of town and looked very suspicious of their surroundings - but something about them screamed "I'm a stuck-up b/tch and I like it that way."
Their faces and figures were absolutely great. But I was completely turned off by their demeanor.
Very attractive women can often be put in one of two categories:
beautiful or sexy. To illustrate: two iconic women, Audrey Hepburn & Marilyn Monroe. Hepburn is beautiful, and Monroe is sexy.
Beautiful is elegant, classy, graceful, but not overtly sexual.
Sexy is obviously more carnal, sensual, exciting, but less refined and not even necessarily pretty.
Obviously, both are pleasing to the eye, and one isn't necessarily better than the other but we all have personal preferences.
Women, which would you rather be?
Men, which do your prefer in a woman?
(and don't say both! )
After talking with some male friends, I was surprised to find most preferred an Audrey Hepburn type. I generally thought men would go for "sexy" over "beautiful". Of course, these are just a few guys I hang out with.
I don't get the sex appeal of Eva Mendez. She looks p*ss*ed off all the time. And sorta like a bad knock off version of Cindy Crawford (who I thin IS very pretty).

No, no. I mean the opposite. If you find a woman attractive, then you may deem her sexy/beautiful. But could you see a woman you find attractive as ugly, physically speaking? I mean, from a purely aesthetic standpoint, you acknowledge that a woman is not beautiful or even cute, but she is still physically attractive to YOU, for whatever reason.

Sorry, Eva.
She's curvier than Cindy Crawford. I don't notice backsides as much, but she wore a white pencil skirt in Hitch and looked fantastic from the back. Some guys really like that siren physique (although Salma Hayek does it better, IMO), so I can see why they like her.
