Don't ever build a house with your spouse or significant other...trust me on this one!

Anyone else want to add?

Pick your battles wisely. At the end of the day, week, month, is it really going to matter?

Respect each other....even if you don't like each other all the time!

When you love someone, let them know it.....often. You never know when it will be the last time you see them.

Find time to always make it just the two of you without outside distractions at least for a couple of hours a week....don't always just talk bout the kids..it has worked for us for almost 33 years so far.

Don't say "Yes" unless you 1) feel like you can't live without this person and 2) know that they would make a good partner financially, emotionally, etc. Think with the heart AND the head before you say "I do".

A marriage is never truly tested until you've accomplished a major move together...even better if it's to another state!

If you ask what's wrong and the answer you get back is "nothing", it's probably not nothing, it's something.

A kiss can end 99% of all arguments.

To borrow one from LBJ...I have learned that only two things are necessary to keep one's wife happy. First, let her think she's having her own way. And second, let her have it. - Lyndon B. Johnson

1. Have a relationship with yourself first. When you're comfortable with yourself, you may be ready to start a relationship with another person.

1. Only you can change yourself if you want to.
