Find time to always make it just the two of you without outside distractions at least for a couple of hours a week....don't always just talk bout the kids..it has worked for us for almost 33 years so far.
Don't say "Yes" unless you 1) feel like you can't live without this person and 2) know that they would make a good partner financially, emotionally, etc. Think with the heart AND the head before you say "I do".
