Guys: just curious, which kind of these 2 girls would you be more likely to be most attracted to, and why?

Girl #1: gentle, demure, quiet, can sometimes be quite shy, introverted, non-confrontational and non-aggressive, very sweet and affectionate, doesn't "rock the boat", is sensitive (meant in a good way), soft-spoken, kind-hearted, very sweet but also rather serious, caring, soft-hearted, refrains from using devices like sarcasm out of concern for other people's feelings, funny and cute but also somewhat on the non-adventurous / non-spontaneous side, idealistic and can be a starry-eyed dreamer at times.

Girl #2: fun, sassy, exciting and adventurous, not afraid to speak her mind and can hold her own, bold, assertive, confident, typically very spontaneous, self-assured, outgoing, usually very witty and sarcastic, fashionable, "life of the party", loves going to social events, humorous and loves to laugh and trade jokes and similar banter, not afraid to "let loose", likes being affectionate within appropriate moderation but not necessarily overly "touchy-feely", projects an air of supreme confidence and authority, knows exactly what she wants and is not afraid to go for it, very realistic and rational.

#2. I can't deal with shyness in a woman.

I'm not playing semantics, but what age group are referencing when you say "girls"?

"Girl" = female approximately between ages 18 - 30-ish

Hard to say, I've dated girls with both personality types. And I don't mind shyness in a woman. And if she's a little insecure, it's not a strike against her either.

If I had to choose, I'd go with #1. I like nice girls.

Dating either one is ok.. To wife? Someone who will change my diaper when I'm age 90 plus. If a woman can't have that kind of commitment then she's just practice.

Ha, reading this I can't help but think the more concise way to phrase this question is "Would you rather date a Charlotte or a Carrie?"

Hah. But given the OP's tendency to romanticize, it's probably more like "would you rather date a Meg or a Jo?" or "a Jane or a Lizzie?"

Elaborate. Why is Number One 'insecure'?
