Also, it's likely more prevalent with first generations than 2nd, 3rd or later generations. My parents were 2nd generation and I think they were just happy that one of their children was finally getting married. We also have no reservations on who our kids date or marry.

We never saw any overt racism, only the occasional stare when we were out and this was in a redneck area in the late 70's and early 80's. Oh, I did shock her grandmother though, but she did finally come around.

These days, I suspect a lot of parents of any ethnicity are the same way, given how late marriages are now becoming the norm.

Nobody should really care about ethnicity/race in dating, IMHO.

Only one...my first "real" boyfriend was Chinese, and very hot. No struggles...I lived near DC, and his father was a fairly wealthy diplomat. Pretty common.

I'd like to see what the statistics are on interracial marriages.

You can say the same about any other preference people have. Should matter or not, it does.

Hmmmm There could be some problems....however nowadays it is more excepted! I was with a Korean man...and now have a Irish-German-Korean son. Only thing is i noticed ...when I go to pick him up anywhere...the teachers are like thats your mom?? Im soo white and he's a light skin asian kid. That I love sooooooooooo much! Also there is always the question "mommy why don't I look like you" and so forth.
