While I think my gf is quite attractive just looking at a picture...she definitely has A LOT of charisma and sex appeal. People just *like* her. If I had to pick one person I knew to go into a room of strangers and make a bunch of friends it would be her.
She's a self-made media creation. I agree that she's not attractive. But she's promoted herself in a way that makes you think of sex when you think of her.
I agree. It's a dubious thing to compare mega-celebrities (those who go out of their way to court attention) with regular people. People like Madonna have their corporate managers hire image designers and PR people - their images are literally money-making brands and are tightly controlled to enhance their profitability over time. Almost every major Hollywood star has a team of full-time people who manage every aspect of their looks.
I am not familiar with Thom Yorke but I agree on the Keanu thing.
The lead singer of Radiohead- odd-looking pale redhead. Sort of Tilda Swinton's much shorter brother. Like Tilda, he has amazing presence (not just in music but also in interviews) that transcends his appearance.
There's a flip side to this: beautiful people who aren't sexy at all, and seem like they'd be terrible in the sack.
I can think of a few celebs like this.
lol, i'm terrible in the sack...not bad looking, lol...just bad at bedroom activities, lol

What about Steven Tyler and Mick Jagger? Neither could be labeled handsome by any stretch, but they don't lack groupies.
Theres a book called "Seductress" by Betsy Prioleau, that tells about many women in history, some awful ugly, that captivated men all over the place. I read it and dont agree with its advice for women, but some of the stories and pictures will impress you because of how wild the stories are. Women like Paulie Viardot, attracting men like bees to honey. Incredible.
I think there's some adage about a tennis ball and ten feet of garden hose that applies here, but I can't remember exactly how it goes.
