You mean that double standard which was set by females in the early 20th century as dresses became shorter and shorter??????
Doesn't matter who set the double standard. I suspect it was the "hair removal industry", they make billions of it. It used to be just leg hair and armpit hair, now it is pubic hair also. To most women hairy backs are gross looking, so are long bushy armpit hairs on men etc. It's about time men get with the program

Trimmed, sure. Most times, if a man trims, you can't even tell if he trims or if it's naturally just like that. Huge, long-wirey, pubic-looking fro-cushion pit hair is really not too appealing. I don't want to date Congo the Ape either. Balance is nice, as long as he remains masculine looking.
Shaved, ick. Just a matter of preference, I guess. . we all have our things.
I find it ironic that those who set the double standards also complain about them.
If it makes you feel any better, I can assure you that I did NOT set them, wasn't even alive then
In fact people can walk around as hairy as they want to be as far as I am concerned... but men and women do look more attractive to me, if they trim the hair.

I'm beginning to think you work in Norelco's marketing department.
Well, that is really the point though. Both men AND women grow hair on their legs and in their armpits, amongst other places. Yet somehow we ended up with this double standard that women are supposed to shave every hair on their body, except their heads, yet men can be as hairy as they want to be.... Hairy backs, stomachs and armpits are not attractive on guys either, IMO.
But there are some things that are- and will always be- associated with a specific gender. Some women have a higher degree of testosterone and they start sprouting chin hairs- that's a masculine trait. It happens to a lot of older women, and they may be past the years of caring, or are physically incapable of maintaining it, but in normal circumstances no guy's going for a bearded lady.
This is a funny thread. I havent shaved in over 20 yrs. My bf does shave his face other than that and I have more hair on my head we are about equal in the harry department.
