And I just have no interest in emailing or instant messaging. Women that I used to talk to all the time on the phone now would rather send me a instant message or an email. If I had a cell if would be a text too. But what is up with so many women not liking to use the Phone anymore???

There's a pretty easy solution - don't respond to that sort of communication. If they do want to talk to you, I'm sure they'll find their way around back to human contact. If they don't, so be it. It's a cliche, but you do teach people how to treat you.

I prefer phone calls. 85% of the time, I will not respond to conversational text on my cell. I let it hang most of the time - except to respond to things such as "I'm leaving now" - "Are you awake" (if its late) - short things like that. It annoys me to no end when people want to "talk" with me on it and the next time I talk to them, I tell them that I do not so they know. It puts an end to that.
Many people prefer texts, IMs, and emails to phone calls nowadays, and that's because you can multi-task more easily, give more thought to your response, and not get stuck in a long conversation that you don't want to have at the moment.
When it comes to dating, I like phone calls for the very reason that it shows I am important enough to put aside other things and call. I also don't mind emails in addition to calls, since I am not a phone person and don't want to be on it too much.

I don't mind e-mails, either, but also not as a substitute.
