I have met 7 people from the internet.

I met 3 at a bar for a drink (one I had two dates with, the other two I dated for about 4-6 weeks each casually).
I went to one's house (then to a bar - dated for 3-4 weeks).
I had lunch with one (dated for 4-5 weeks).
I had ice cream with one (never met again).
I had dinner with one (been together for 3 years).

No..I'm employed and can afford more than a $10 date. But I'm not going to wine and dine a stranger....lol.

Do you have a park or something similar you can go to and meet?
What about the bookstore?
The cafe can be nice and you can always chat about books...

We decided to meet at a bar and have a drink while we talked. That was three and a half years ago and we've now been married for two :-)

Going out and then wanting to get out is hard to do in a bar or restaurant...I mean, when is the end of the date? Try something different like the zoo because when you are done there you can decide to end it there or go for drinks and dinner.
