And, if he does so there is the possibility the attraction is mutual.

Regarding my personal preference, I've noticed that texting allows for better initial contact because then the 'dead' silence that occurs during somewhat awkward telephone conversations is eliminated and/or you don't have to worry about interrupting the other person's business (or whatever) that they might be engaged in at the moment which itself is also kind of awkward because you don't 'know' their schedule or routines. I readily accept that when I text someone a response may not be forthcoming for several minutes or even hours later. Texting also allows for a simple "Hello" which is always nice.
I agree with this.

As for why it's so hard to meet people, I don't know. Just get out there, do things you enjoy doing, be open and friendly, and you will meet people. Whether they'll be people you want to date - who knows?

Text first. Guys dig that. It strokes their ego.

However, you serve the ball once. Then allow him to hit the ball back. If you don't hear from him....well, you just let it go. K? K.

This is the effect i'm trying kinda to avoid, i don't want him to think i'm desperate...coz i'm not...and i don't want him to become arrogant or something...this scenario happened to me often so i wanna do things right this time and you're totally right in your last two sentences

If you're interested, texting him first wouldn't hurt anything.

Stop overthinking and just go for it!

Text once. (1) time. Then wait. If he likes you he will be happy to see you text. If he isn't into you then he won't. That simple.

Texting him one time to say hi is not sounding desperate. Texting him 3 or 4 times like: "I text you at 2 and I didn't here from you." "I was wondering if everything is alright?" "Is this still your number? This is the one you gave me?" "Dave? Did you get this text?" "I will be up all night if you want to text back?" "Hi...me again. It's 3a.m. just wanted to say goodnight."

Yeah, those would be over the top.

If you want to call him, call him and if he doesn't answer leave a message and wait for his return call. Those stupid who calls who first game rules are stupid.
