The way a person 'feels' is never wrong. True or not you just feel that way. But I wouldn't generalize the situation, not everyone is like you've described. It just sounds like you don't have a very good relationship with each other. So, you have three ioptions - deal with it, go to therapy together and try, or move out. But if you express your disinterest in what she is discussing as 'inane' seems like there isn't a strong foundation to communication.

Was she mad because of what you said or that you were making unecessary noise while she was trying to hear her show?

She's mad because she's a woman and now that she has seen a Dr. Oz show that says women think with both halves of their brains and men only use one half. So she all of a sudden thinks she is smarter than me or something. She has always had the mindset that a woman is always right and the man should have to do everything her way or just ****. You can't voice opinions with her because it is seen as "starting a fight". So I have given up trying to reason with her anymore, it cannot be done.

Actually, there are three sides to every story. His side, her side and the truth.

true, and i'll be the first to admit i'm no picnic, but when you upset me, I TELL YOU what you did, why i'm mad about it, and i get over it

like most irrational people, she will stew over it for a few days and then blurt out "don't you even care why im not talking to you?"

and i'll say something insensitive like "nope, i dont give a flying fock anymore, pull your head out of your ass and tell me when it happens, or shut up about it"

and go about my business, but what do i know, she's been a SAHM for almost 3 years now, and a homemaker for a year before that... i think she's fairly well taken care of considering the situation

How old are you two?

If you cant communicate and work out trivial problems like washing dishes pull the plug on the T.V. and buy some self help marriage/relationship books. Maybe she will have a more positive epiphany and you can learn to wash dishes quietly.

Wow. I was going to advise you to break up with her, but I didn't realize she was your wife and the mother of your children. Maybe she should give the boob tube a rest. You could sweeten up too, though.
