I have started to notice over the past 10 years that Hollywood is starting to embrace men and women with red hair. This prospect makes me excited! For the longest time it seemed like having redhair was like having the plague, maybe because of the movie "chuckie".
So, what's the deal? Where's the love for the reheads?

Red haired chicks are getting "hotter", not so much for the guys.
First, when color came to the movies, red heads were easily more prominent on the screen than other hair colors. I think that perception has always continued to some degree.
Second, red heads used to be "forbidden fruit". When Playboy started mass printing color photos of nude women they were not allowed to show the muff of a red head as it was considered too provocative. It was years before a fully nude and unshaven red head could appear, so it became a type of mystique thing.
But, golly, do I adore reds!!
