the flawed logic of that aside, i seriously doubt that 1 in 4 people are walking around with an STD right now..maybe 1 in 4 contract one at some point in their lives, but no way do i believe a quater of the adult population are actively infected at all times! dosnt ad up at all my friend.
thats pretty hilarious..glad I'm the 75% that's STD free :-D and never had one either. I just call myself lucky, though I've only had 2 partners so maybe the 4th one will be it? eww..
While awareness of this should be promoted often it seems advocates use scare tactics and inflate statistics to further a "safe sex" agenda. I guess they figuire if they scare you sexless that will be the best way of preventing a STD.
It is typical though just like in politics, throw out a number and call it a "statistic" and many will just believe it.
This really does not suprise me after the polls on this forum alone. No one thinks cold sores are and STD for one, many don't test at all before relationships and even some believe they will not get aids because they are a white male. LOL

If we're talking adults, I'd guess it to be at least 1 in 4. Supposedly herpes infects 1 in 5 or more, and that's forever.
