I know it depends strongly on the individuals. 10 years into marriage "historically" is always the pivot point in most marriages.

Some marriages don't even last for 10 years-poor compatibility obviously.
Others cross the 10 years mark then trouble and few cross blissfully.

I am presently talking to a girl but we aren't BF/GF material. After 3 months I discovered she is 11 years younger than me. Of all the girls introduced to me; she is the one I have a profound interest in -oh boy was I shocked upon discovery (WRT her age).

I may be of old school where "we" believe in an approximate 7 years difference between the older man and the younger woman.

My grandparents had a 12 year age span and were married 40 years...it can be done. I will tell you, the older you get the smaller the gap becomes!

Whatever works for other people, but for me, I'd go five years younger or ten years older. Actually, the older I get, the less I want someone ten years older!

My husband is 17 years older - and the age gap does matter. I won't go into it, but if I had it to do all over again, I would choose to remain single.

My parents are 12 years apart, and it never seemed weird at all. I think the person's maturity level has a lot to do with it. But while I don't think age is an important factor, I don't want to see it taken to extremes, like a senior citizen with an 18 yr old.

yea major factor. +/- 5 years otherwise you are abnormal. Seeing a 30 year old with a 22 year old is just DISGUSTING. Seriously.

My mother is 12 years older than my father. Been married about 28 years I think and doing just fine. It's better this way; women live longer than men in general, thus they should rob the cradle so they'll have their guy around for a little longer than nature generally allows I'm only a couple years older than my beau, no biggie there.
