When i think about it..In a strange way, an ex of mine was my hero...only because she helped me save myself..from myself...or who i could have become..this is why, even though she also bailed, she is still special..

Why are ya'll picking on her? She said when things got bad he "took off" and now he's no longer her hero. Do you REALLY need to know the specifics about things getting bad?
My husband IS my hero, for so many reasons, and I can promise you - no matter how "bad" things got, he would not "take off". Then again, he's my husband and we're in a decades long relationship - boyfriends are different (sometimes they are still too much "boy" )
