The solution is simple. If you would have been a hit in the '50s, you're simply looking at the wrong demographic. You should be dating 60 year old women.
betamanlet is a conservative who longs for the 50s. He doesn't seem to like the cultural changes that have taken place since then. But it also serves as a convenient excuse. It reminds me of those guys who blame women's lib for making dating harder. In their minds, women being more independent means they can be pickier, which just makes it harder for me to impress them.
