I won't even "engage" in the yard. If something's blowing up out in the yard with hubby and/or the kids (RARELY, does that happen nowadays)TG!....I simply say, quite calmly, "I absolutely refuse to stand out here (or refuse to allow YOU to stand out here) in the yard and scream at each other like trailer trash. If you want to discuss something loudly, at least have the common sense and decency to go into the house to discuss it."
Incidentally, we have a trailer park nearby, filled with drunks...someone will get into it outside and the next thing you know..ALL of the drunks are out there screaming at each other...not long afterwards, the local police show up to end it all.
It's quite the sideshow!
