True, hope. We are so busy listening to his representative. We are ignoring the real person. In a different manner, he's always been a show-off. He would really get on my nerves.

Guys who like to show off
in front of their friends?? At what point should men stop acting like this in front of their male friends?

My s/o has a bad habit of doing this, and it doesn't matter if I talk to him about this or not, he will still do it.

show off as in saying things that he normally never says to me if it's just us together, but if his friends come around he likes to be a smart azz.
(some) Boys will be boys. Maybe he should have time with his friends away from you. Or maybe get more mature friends. Some men never grow out of this stage. Only you can decide what your limits are. If you don't want to put up with it, move on.

Well...if today's 50 is yesterday's 40, your guy is just 21

However, I know 21 year-olds who behave better than him - so age isn't his real problem.

Forget about it ladies! All men show off to some degree or another. It is always a competition who can out do the other one or get one over on the other one. It never stops at any age either. Many of the guys I hang out with in their 60's still do it. It's our nature and as long as it isn't hurting anyone don't sweat it!

Besides, growing up is over-rated.

In general I agree with you Rugged, but this guy seems to be going way overboard, embarrassingly so.

That might be taking it a bit far then. I was thinking about building cars and cheating to win and stuff like that!

Exactly. Going too far = annoying. Immaturity is not especially attractive

Or the guy at the range that has a 500 S&W which is the largest caliber and most powerful commercially available handgun in the world. When he breaks it out everyone else stops shooting and watches him. Even if you try to ignore him, the bark will get you curious and you want to see just WTH is that guy shooting? Is it showing off? Yeah, it probably is but we all think it is cool!
