Well, when I hear somebody describe somebody else as a 'fake,' it's sometimes because they have a good instinct.

However, more often than not, it's because they are either envious or just have some irrational bigotry.

There you go.

What say u?

I'm a very sensitive person and although it's such a cliche, I just feel when a person is not being sincere with me. It is quite hard for me now in South Florida as I have met lots of fake people here. As much as I love it here, I miss those blunt ruthless but real New Yorkers.

I'm still nice regardless of where it gets me.

It's not about being nice or polite. That's just basic manners. It's about someone who is insincere with you. Someone who is nice to your face but will stab you in the back in a second.

Ah-ha, someone who might be able to shed some light on this delima that has been eating me away and pertains to this thread. Do all people from New Jersey have a accent?

Smile The old saying

My mom used to tell us over and over "if you don't have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself"

If that were used more today, think how much more pleasant it could be. I mean, people are paid big money on talk shows to go on and slam someone - it is just wrong and I hate that people buy into all that. Just sad.
