It sounds like if you give her anything to hold on to like "We will always be friends, I like you but I'm not looking for a relationship" etc. is probably going to give her some hope because it doesn't sound like she is in the same place you are. She will probably think that if she just waits long enough it will work out.
Yep, I have made that mistake and others I know have done the same. Don't give out false hopes under the guise of trying to be nice. Especially with a gal that screams out "i love you, i love you" over and over again when the only preexisting condition is some drunken conversation of a few hours max.
