Has Religion Corrupted The Concept Of Love? (Revelations, quote, faith)

Love, the endless theme since eons for poets, philosophers, songs, novelists, theater, and film.
For many people love is an unexplainable, strong emotion without bounds, breaking all social restraints, and causing either euphoria or grief, and even punishment.
Religion has all too often condemned love (indirectly and subtly), and corrupted the concept of love. Religion trashes love as if love was a disorder in need of a cure. Much of the skewed attitude against love can be attributed to god. Maybe due to jealousy or envy. To appease god people have put chains on their emotions. It's not too unusual that affectionate feelings are condemned by religion and described as weaknesses or "temptations" that should be resisted (for god's glory) or giving in to satan.
Consequently, religion has corrupted love. Small wonder; God provides a terrible standard for love.
I don't know (nor does anyone else) what love was prior to the invention of religion.
"Love" has a lot of natural biological drivers.
One of the reasons some religions recommend resisting temptation is for social security for women and families. If men were out screwing every woman who came along, the mothers of their kids and the kids themselves might not get sufficient support.
Nah, religion has corrupted the concept of love as much as art (or 'Hollywood').
The only difference between art and religion is that art does not impose its interpretation of love on humanity.

Religion corrupts all it comes in contact with...including people.
Love = Caring for the other, and doing the right things for the right reasons for the whole or the many, or the one who makes all possible...in peace, health and happiness...with punishement for those who stray from the guidlines of what love truly is....
Humans = a bad equation in the head or heart when attempting both!= chaos, corruption, and constant ills/death and false profits as their counter signs.
Humakind = religion practiced correctly, and Love well defined onto all things, and with all things given share the wonders of the world order...according to God and Jesus...it is ALL GOOD when taken with thanksgiving!...That includes all the plants God made Good and Gave!
The corner stone the builders Rejected...the contrabann...the outlawed and prohibited ...the profaned things which God said were good....that humans now call bad or evil or sin....when God said it is all Good....
So somewhere someone has removed this ideal of God and his judgement on his creations, and brainwashed the people into believing in MONEY and WEALTH...in stead of sharing and caring.....and the world is being polluted beyond measure....to bring about more ills woes and wrath....wonder why?
Belief?..Religion?..LOVE?...have they defined love right yet?....and even if they have...is it righteous to Love what is in error of Religion of a certain creator?...who defines all things according to him/her self....what is best for US and God...is a certain kind of Love....and it is not sexual in nature...cause God makes life...and only God makes life eternal....Humans make death...and from what I see here...it is made constantly and for a high price and all the wrong reasons!
More hospitals, and weapons of war please...cause I hate my neighbours!
More pollution please, cause I hate the world and all the living things in it God made good!
More bent laws and powers to put the good people into prison who Grow and know the truth, so the bent and corrupted can rule the roost...asking for more human sacrifices in wars with no merits or truths!
And Let us rebuild the monument of death, and our IDOL..again...
Wonder why?....Not because of religion...for if they would follow the words, acts, and revelations...they would believe, and follow to the letter of the laws Of God...and put that "be Evil" and "sinful nature" away!
But they never have....and they always have broken one or many of those laws God made and gave us to follow...so not following in truth all of the requirements needed to be a true believer of Religion or Love for that matter...removes the Ideal of religion based faith...for if one does not do what is required or asked by God or the religion of God, then they are not practicing the Religion or defining LOVE correctly!.
Blame Humans for that unfulfilled requirement, Now saying it is Good to have Money and wealth and war, and sickness and death with us constantly....is certainly a religion of opposities to the one true God of creation!
Should we love that?...Jesus says "Love covers a multitude of sins!"
Does he mean that LOVE is a blanket? or carpet?..or coat of paint?...perhaps?
People corrupt things...it is very well defined in this world...and it will probably continue...as they believe in their lies more than the truth it seems!...Let us VOTE into rule the next liar please.....We need better corruption and more wars to make more money off the dead blood...while we pollute not only the Earth and all life...but ourselves toboot!

Both religion and the popular media corrupt the concept of love. Religion does it mostly by insisting that monogamy is the only valid form of human romantic love. The problem (especially with the pop media) is the constant idealizing of the jealous-love model. This model that says "you can't really be in love unless you are jealous."
I would guess that all of us have some triggers for some jealousy, and I'm sure that SOME people may have a natural tendency to be extremely jealous. My point is that extreme jealousy is not "human nature" – it is just the individual nature of some people – and it is unfortunate that our culture amplifies this jealous attitude by glamorizing it and telling us that the measure of true love is the level of jealousy.
