The use of science to refute the existence of God . . . by focusing on religion (and Biblegod specifically) is founded on ignorance masquerading as explanation. They will readily assert "We don't know" . . . but then resort to euphemistic jargon to make their "We don't know" seem to be explanations. Whenever you see these words you know you are dealing with ignorance masquerading as explanation to avoid considering God:
Nature/Universe/Cosmos = we don't know what it is but it constitutes our reality so we don't care what it is . . . it just is.
Laws of Physics = inexplicable consistent structures and constraints on reality whose Source is in the as yet unknown universal field that establishes our reality.
Laws of Chemistry = inexplicable consistent interactions of matter and energy whose Source is in the as yet unknown universal field that establishes our reality.
Natural = we don't know why it happens . . . we just observe that it results from the inexplicable "Laws" above
Emergence = we don't know why but we observe it eventually happen under certain conditions and we can sometimes mimic it in our artificial mathematical rubric
Spontaneous = we don't know why but it just happens on its own, we observe it and usually have no idea what the necessary conditions are
Random = we don't know the causal chain but we can mathematically mimic it in our artificial constructs
Self-organizing = we don't know why but it just happens on its own, we observe it, and we can mimic it in our artificial mathematical rubric
Self-"anything else" = see above
Mutation = change that we observe happen . . . most we have no explanation for whatsoever (usually called random)
