Scenario 1: If science came out with a pill that would cure all disease and prevent you from ever getting sick, but the side effect was becoming unable to have children(infertile).
Scenario 2: Same as above, except the side effect is becoming immortal.
I wouldn't take the pill for the first scenario unless I had children already and knew my Genes had been passed on.
The Second scenario, I would definitely take the pill. Imagine being able to see what becomes of the world 2000, 5000, 10,000, or even 100,000 years from now?
This brings me to another question for you all. What do you think the world will be like 2000, 5000, 10,000 and/or 100,000 years from now?
I have had my kids, so I can take the first one, but I would take the second also, although I wonder exactly how long would I enjoy living. You have to support yourself as well, so imagine 100,000 years of work!!!!!!!!!!!

I already have children with another one the way due a week from now, but could come any day. So, yes, I'd take the pill in scenario #1.
I would not take the pill in scenario #2. I don't want to live for ever. I don't want to watch all of my loved ones die generation after generation. And I believe that I would eventually just get tired of living. Life has a lot of really great moments, but it is often very hard.
I enjoy the great moments of my life, but I will greatfully embrace the end of my life when it comes. It just feels right that I will eventually die and be no more. Sure, I'll miss out on seeing what the world will be like thousands of years from now, but that is alright. Death is like finally going to sleep after a long eventful day, to wake no more. I'll welcome the sleep and will feel the time is right, and reflect on the fun and full day/life I had as I drift off.

Pill#1 - You could easily have children first then take the pill, or have your sperm/eggs preserved before taking the pill
Pill#2 - I would take it in a heartbeat as long as my family and loved ones could have one as well.
