I am NOT trying to minimize the tragic devastation and loss of life over the past 2 weeks in the Southern United States, BUT considering the popular idea that god is inflicting judgment on the world because of evil and in fulfillment of off the wall biblical passages, one then has to wonder how the Christians who espouse these ideas view "god's judgment" on a region supposedly populated with many of his children? Conversely, the "atheist north" rarely sees such devastation where nature kills hundreds in one swoop.

Probably not, but Mother Nature seems pretty pi**ed off!

I was born and raised in the southeast and still have family there. None of us can remember ever having weather like this.

Well America, a country where around 85% of the population claims to be Christian, is the world highest consumer and producer of pornography. Maybe they're getting their come-up-ance!!

I was thinking about this too. Conservatives claim God smited Japan with an Earthquake for being atheists, Haiti with an earthquake for making a deal with the devil, New Orleans with a hurricane for their sins and what gays? Of course we know they will be cheering the day LA and San Francisco get hit by the big Earthquake due to their gay/liberal support.

And yet, one of the largest tornado outbreaks in US history hits the most conservative areas of the country.

Maybe God is punishing all the right wing Christians for their self-righteousness and hatred of gays?

....you just did.

Whenever some evangelist makes some Moderator cut: deleted statement about gods wrath they look hateful and dim. Correct?

So why are you emulating their tactics?

I merely said conservatives, because those who make those kind of statements are conservatives. I never said all conservatives.

In case you missed it, we never claimed this was God's judgement. It's a parody of what some conservatives might say. If they are going to claim God's wrath for what they perceive as sinful locations, why do they ignore their own backyard when it gets hit by disaster?

I don't believe God uses natural disasters to smite a couple people committing sins in random locations.
