I prefer to know things because I have an inquisitive mind. I am not happy with the stock "because I said so". I didn't like it from my parents and I sure as hell won't accept it as an adult. That is why I continually read and investigate and ask questions. I need to know the hows and whys. That is how humans have evolved to this point, that is why the world has technology and scientific discoveries, because people didn't sit on their butts and be intellectually lazy.
I actually agree with you about this. Your statement couldn't be more spot on to the way I am. Never simply except something because someone else says so. Investigate and if possible form an educated opinion on the subject. Space... when looking out into it, I can't help but feel luck and amazed that I am. If one minor thing had been different, the earth as we know it, could have never been formed. And the fact that we don't know what waits for us out there is somewhat comforting.
well i mean intellectually, to some degree yes....but even though i have a rich and fertile imagination, when they put it in pictures like this for me......i have a really hard time trying to fathom this perspective, it`s just so mind boggling. i feel both completely insignificant and completely.....a walking miracle at the same time. for me, looking up at the night sky illuminates the micro within the macro, and the recognition that infinite galaxies, sun moon and star worlds and planes of reality exist not only *out there* but within me (and within each one of us). truly, outer reflection of inner and vice versa.

The Photopic Sky Survey is a 5,000 megapixel photograph of the entire night sky stitched together from 37,440 exposures.
