I would rate this story as highly suspicious and as a hoax.
A search on the Internet did not reveal any such person as Pastor Theo or any churches by that name.
What was really suspicious in the very beginning was the lack of a location in the news article. As I teach journalism, one of the important aspects of news reporting deals with the "where." Otherwise, most of the time, the reporting of news has no import for anyone.
"Somewhere at some time something big is going to happen that just might hurt or kill a lot of people and cost a lot of money in damages. Please be aware and take necessary precautions." -- wasted time, space, and energy

It's the Onion for Pete's sake...A purely satirical site.
Ah. The Onion. Forgive an extremely old man. I take it that the Onion is not a news-worthy rag.
The Onion is a satire site/paper/deal. I think they have some serious reviews of movies or something, but the stories are mostly intended as satirical faux-news. Sometimes it relates to a real issue or event, but to satirize it.

You begin to suspect that the OP isn't familiar with the Onion, either.
Don't worry I do know of the Onion and it is funny seeing the reaction of people who believe it is actually real.
