The problem is NOT with the religions, their beliefs or tenants.

The problem IS with how certain individuals and groups who claim to be of a certain religion, but who do not follow the beliefs and tenants of said religion, insist that THEIR practices are in fact the real ones.

The problem IS with how many people ASSUME that the beliefs/actions of the above-listed few do actually represent the beliefs/actions of everyone who subscribes to that religion.

The problem IS ALSO with folks who don't bother trying to read and understand the viewpoints, beliefs and key tenants of other religions, but who simply rely on the words and conclusions of others of their own religions to shape their personal viewpoints. This is very much like the old story of the rooster who was so lazy that he waited for another rooster to crow, then just nodded his head in agreement. Since the farmer who owned him was relying on this rooster to wake everyone, you can imagine how things turned out.

As radio humorist Red Neckerson was so fond of saying, "That's my opinion: oughta be yours!"

I am in absolute agreement with you. Why can't we ALL just live and let live...instead of worrying about what everyone else is doing??????

"Barbaric nonsense?" "Clear savagery"? Sigh!

It is quite obvious that you have never actually read either the Bible or the Quran. For that matter I suspect that you've never read the teachings of the Buddha, the Book of Mormon, etc.

I do not insist that you, or anyone, choose to follow any religious beliefs, principles or teachings. That is for you, and only you, to decide.

However, I DO insist that, before ANYONE makes such dismissive and derogatory comments as you just made, he/she must have at least (a) read the document or documents, and (b) made an honest attempt to understand what they have to say. [Not agree with or buy into what they have to say; just understand them.]

As best I can tell, you have done neither.

There are dangerous FANATICS in all religions, including Christianity...but people see and believe what they want to see and believe, regardless of the truth of the matter.
