Only uneducated and brainwashed leave their Christian faith.
What's wrong with Christianity? Jesus was an amazing person who taught and said very good thing that every person should follow and act the way he was.

Actually Christianity is increasing everywhere, even in developed nations.

Why would you say that I'm uneducated and brainwashed? That does not put you, or your religion in a very good light...And why would you say Christianity is increasing everywhere, when most of us know that the opposite is true?

Christianity is plummeting in America, while the number of non-believers is skyrocketing. Where Have All the Christians Gone? | Fox News

Decline of Christianity in the West

Among developed nations, a median of only 38% of people say that religion is important in their daily lives. In 2007 and 2008, eight of the eleven least religious countries in the world were located in Europe, and all but one (Mongolia) were within the western sphere:

Estonia: 14% said religion is important in their daily lives
Sweden: 17%
Denmark: 18%
Norway: 20%
Czech Republic: 21%
Azerbaijan: 21%
Hong Kong: 22%
Japan: 25%
France: 25%
Mongolia: 27%
Belarus: 27%

In the 1960s, 79% of the British believed in God; thirty years later, it was 68%. Meanwhile, from the 1950s to the 1990s, those saying they did not believe in God rose from around 2% to 27%. The Decline and Fall of Christianity

A major difficulty in calculating the rise or decline of Christianity is in how Christianity is defined. For the Purpose of Statistics everybody who calls himself Christian is counted as being such. This includes a wide range of diversity ranging from Roman Catholicism to Mormonism to Jehovah Witnesses to the "Lord's Resistance Army" and anything in between. While some denominations are making tremendous gains the Traditional mainststream denominations are loosing members. The fastest Growing Groups of Christians are:

Jehovah Witnesses and Morman's.

SOURCE

If you are going to make the claim Christianity is growing you will have to accept both are Christians. cause without them Christianity is declining.

If you are going to claim Christianity is the Largest religion You will have to agree Roman Catholics are Christian as they comprise over half the people who are counted as Christians.

SOURCE

While there are over 30,000 Christian Denominations they can be divided into 15 "Families". Not all the families accept the others as being Christian, although they are counted into the statistics as such because that is what they self identify with.

SOURCE

To answer if Christianity is growing or declining will depend on what you accept as being Christian. If you believe all 15 of the above Families are Christian, it is growing. If you believe any one is not Christian it is declining.

Default Addition to my post above

Out of fairness I should point out that the inflated numbers for Christianity are not a deliberate attempt to deceive. It is just that in counting self identification is used. all who self identify as being Christian are counted as being such, including groups many Christians do not consider to be Christian.

The same thing happens to us Muslims. Everybody who self identifies as Muslim gets counted as being such this includes Sunni, Shi'ite, Sufi, NOI, Ahmadiyyat, some Ba'hai, some Sikhs and possibly others.

Typically those of us who are Sunni, Shi'ite and Sufi only accept Sunni, Shi'ite and Sufi as being practicing Muslims. Although many of us do accept everyone who calls himself Muslim as being Muslim even if we believe they are not properly following Islam.

Self-reported Christians are down: From 1948 to 2008, the self-reported Christian population of America fell from 92% to 78% and the nonreligious population rose from two percent to between thirteen and fifteen percent. Nonbelievers have mostly come from the ranks of Christian defectors.

While I agree the decline in the US is considerable. On a world wide basis there may be an apparent increase. However that may be misleading as some, perhaps many converts are simply leaving old traditional denominations and moving to newer Fundamentalist ones.

Christianity is exploding in China.

Christianity in China | Fox News

On its current trajectory and with state backing, within three decades there may be nearly 400 million Christians in China. The future of Christianity may well lie in the east.
