People love fantasy in films. The bible is a pretty good source. The series Supernatural touched on the whole four apocalyptic horsemen from Revelation w/o turning it into a left behind meme. Some aspect of the antichrist were also there and a lot of poetic licence was taken with that aspect.
I just watched the trailer a little while ago. My first reaction is that it could be a really good thing--if they stayed true to the Biblical account. I know a lot of people will be happy with it just being an entertaining film, but I'm skeptical. I know that no matter what the topic, Hollywood tends to take short cuts and add dramitical effect.
On the Noah movie, magically delish and great cast! The controversy should begin in 10, 9, 8, 7, ..............., I'm sure it's not the exact account of Noah. But, looks like a great movie.

Reason: Please refer to thread in AA forum pertaining to Rifleman.
Judging by the trailer, it looks more like a movie set in Europe c. 900AD than somewhere in the middle east c. 3000BC. Gosh, the characters are wearing pants and all are very medieval Anglo Saxon in their appearance.
With that said, the movie can be a lot of fun. I like sci-fi and I like movies set in post Roman Empire Europe.
But truth be told there is only so much you can do with three chapters in the OT and make a feature length movie
The author that went to Heaven that I'm always talking about, Kat Kerr, actually went to LA and declared over Hollywood that the enemy would be driven out and that Hollywood and the entertainment industry would be used to glorify God and spread the message and light of God to the world. And that's exactly what's been happening ever since. It's so amazing to see the advancement of God's word coming to fruition! First there was the Bible show which was a smash success, then it was Duck Dynasty, now it's Noah, next year The Rapture movie is coming out as well as the theatrical version of the Bible show and the theatrical adaptation of "Heaven is for Real!" by Colton Burpo. Then further more, The Bible is coming back for another season on NBC! If you didn't know, welcome to the kingdom age!
