I was reading the 'arificial insemination' thread and the thought came to mind.

During a sex dream there is lust for someone that you know or don't know. The difference is that the whole thing takes place in your unconscious mind while you are asleep. Your conscious mind, like a light bulb, has been turned off. Does this matter as far as a sin is concerned?

Does Deuteronomy 23:10 apply?

I think we each have to examine our own hearts and relationship with God to know the answer. I'm sure some will disagree, those are simply my thoughts.

Can you control what you dream about? Why would it be sin if I don't seek to do it? The same could be said for me dreaming about theft, murder, etc.

Having said that, if you dwell on something (or someone) in hopes of encouraging a dream about it, I would suggest its probably the same as if you intentionally lusted.

Yes it is a sin , and when you wake up you should rebuke the spirit who gave you this dream to Jesus name , and caste down imaginations to Jesus in Jesus name sake, and pray for spiritual discernment of Holy Spirit of these dreams to confirm truth

What's the deal with all this concern about random things being sins? While sin is real, it is NOT the focus of the Christian walk.

Seriously, how do you plan on controlling your dreams? A better thing to consider is what type of information you are allowing inside your mind, soul, and spirit.

If you're asleep, no it cannot be sin. Your brain is not conscious, it is at rest .Not able to discipher as it does while awake
