How do you reconcile faith with real world reality? (believe, belief, exist)

I love this question. There is definitely a difference between fundamentalist thinking and the way I think. I have faith, but I also think God gave me the brains to think outside the box. My faith does not require me to ignore science because I'm not a Biblical literalist. One doesn't have to pick.

Again...it really depends on what you consider "truth".
Scientific truths are not opinions or beliefs. They are replicateable realities.
Try replicating anything in the bible. It won't and can't happen. Heck, they can't even find evidence of millions of people encamped in the Sinai a couple of thousand years ago.
No, there isn't. Only evidence to make one wonder how it works.
Really.
It's clearly evident. Such denial is a valid personal decision, but it is rather petulant to insist that's not what's going on.
We can continue to have this silly "yes it is", "no it isn't" debate all day long. The fact is that there are some very intelligent people -- smarter than you (probably--I don't know you) and me-- that don't agree with you on these things. These thins are not fact simply because someone declares them to be so.
From what you've written, I don't think you know what it is that those smarter people disagree about.

Does your faith require you to ignore (actively or otherwise) anything you observe in the world around you?
Why or why not?
Usually they don't ignore it - they just manipulate it to fit their preconceived religious ideas. For example we all know that the reality of life completely contradicts a Good Creation from an all-powerful, all-knowing Good God - so they invent the Fall which has absolutely no evidence what so ever. Problem Solved!

Just because they are smart doesn't make them experts in biology. The VAST majority of biologists agree on evolution, and any evidence to the contrary is on the fringes and are not considered valid at this point.
On the flip side, I've got a friend who's a doctor who treats this guy with a massive gunshot wound. He says "that would've killed 99 out of 100 people. I don't know why this guy lived. No one does. It cannot be explained There's no scientific reason he's alive right now."
*I* know. If it would've killed 99 out of 100 people, then it would NOT have killed 1 person out of a 100. This guy is that one. We may feel blessed when we're that one, but that's just the nature of statistics.
Let the person live when 100 out of 100 people would have died, and then you've got something.
