And you received your doctorate in psychology from ... which university?

How long have you been a practicing psychoanalyst?

Otherwise ... stop trying to tell other people what they feel. You're not qualified.

Uh, no, I don't. Why is saying you can be good without going to church mocking those who do go to church? It doesn't say, "People who go to church are fools and only go so they can pretend to be good!" or some other nonsense, does it?

Do you think church is a prerequisite for someone to be a good person? If not, then your "offense" at this sign is nothing but grandstanding. If you do believe that, then I think you may want to see someone about your inability to think rationally.

OH NO! Christians have to follow the same laws as the rest of society.

+1!

Yes, Jeff seems to think that Christians (and let's be honest, he is only worried about Christians) should have some sort of free pass to do whatever they want. A free pass to discriminate, break laws, ignore their bosses... The list is endless of things Jeff thinks Christians should be able to do with no consequences.

OR, it could be that someone applies that description because they have examined its value and found it wanting.

But of course THAT'S impossible.

Yep, that's what passes for fundamentalist "thought."

I am not sure that some of these people are even able to think. They just spew out crap they have been brainwashed to believe, and spout nonsense that they read on some Christian website or hear on Fox News. Some people on here have shown a consistent inability to think.

Take Jeff, for example. I give him what...5 signs to look at and tell me if they are offensive. He comes back with, "Well, evolution is a fairy tale!". He ignores all the others, and says something like that, which proves he has absolutely no grasp on science at all.

Or perhaps someone who has read it and studied it has come to the conclusion that it is garbage.

You ought to read it sometime.

For me to believe the claim of Christian persecution, I would have to see real action that prevents Christians from practicing the major tenets of their faith.

So far, not one single thing Christianity lost was a major tenet. If I thought the government or atheists were stepping out of line -- for instance, forcing churches to officiate over gay weddings -- I would be among the first to defend Christianity.

If Christians began facing the same kind of bans as smokers have been facing in recent years, if Christians began losing REAL freedoms like being able to attend worship services, own and read a Bible, or to possess and display religious iconography on private property, that would be persecution. If preachers were no longer allowed to preach their brand of Christianity within the walls of their own churches, that would be persecution. If Christians began being arrested for expressing themselves, if Christians lost the right to peaceably assemble, if Christians lost the right to display messages on billboards, I would consider that persecution.

But having to endure criticism, mockery, and a few mild insults is NOT persecution. Everyone has to endure those things from time to time and only Christian arrogance would ever presume to believe that their precious religion ought to be immune to such things.

Being unable to force everyone in the country to obey your Biblical laws is NOT persecution. In fact, that is just the opposite. Requiring non-Christians to obey the Bible in regards to issues like homosexuality is Christianity persecuting everyone else by stripping away the freedom for non-Christians to make their own choices.

Being offended is not persecution, either. No one has the right to not be offended. Not even your religion. Every person, every idea, every opinion, every organization ... we all have to swallow a bitter pill once in awhile in the form of an offensive remark. The moment you begin advocating for the silencing of opposing opinions YOU become the persecutors.

Got it!
The irony is Christians wouldn't feel pushed to label atheists as anti-American and traitors if atheists were not relentlessly attacking faith and tearing down American traditions, the latest being an attack on university school chaplains.
