I can't say enough about this stupidity, but here is the news link.

Oklahoma lawmakers approve bill to revoke licenses of abortion doctors | Reuters

Idiots. What the flip is the matter with these religious zealots. "If we take care of morality,” bill supporter David Brumbaugh, a Republican, said during deliberations, "God will take care of the economy."

So, how many of our Christian apologists here are OK with this stupidity?

The text of the portion which includes not being able to perform the abortion to save life of the mother is included in this article:

The rise of the religious fundamentalists is threatening America more surely than terrorists. The Arabs lost their ascendancy in the sciences because of the rise of their fundamentalists. We seem headed down the same road. It is a travesty. We have no business trying to enforce on others using Government coercion whatever we THINK God wants, period. God's laws are ENTIRELY voluntary. Any forced compliance is useless to God.

Guess they would rather women go to more extreme measures to take care of an unwanted pregnancy. Idiots abound, cupper.

Oklahoma!

Home of the 10th-highest infant mortality rate. As in, the death rate of actual babies.
Infant mortality rate by U.S. state 2015 | Statistic

And what is Oklahoma doing about that? Nothing. Their elected officials are just wasting their time passing laws that they all know will never go into effect.

Some good here...some bad, IMO.
~~Proscribe killing human beings as they develop in the womb: Good thing. It makes sense to cease the most depraved and evil thing mankind has ever done, or sanctioned doing.
~~Deprive someone of their right to defend themselves against an existential threat, no matter what it is: Bad thing.
Oh, and, no Religion involved in my position. I'm not Religious.

Did you actually read the article? Because there is this note:

"Exemptions would be given for those who perform the procedure for reasons including protecting the mother or removing a miscarried fetus."

Wrong:

The prohibition includes abortions required to save the life of a pregnant woman; however, inducing an early birth to save the life of a fetus would be legal.

From the text of SB 1552:
Performance of an abortion as defined by Section 1-730 of Title 63 of the Oklahoma Statutes with an intention other than to increase the probability of a live birth, to preserve the life or health of the child after live birth, to remove an ectopic pregnancy, or to remove a dead unborn child who died as the result of a spontaneous miscarriage, accidental trauma, or a criminal assault on the pregnant female or her unborn child.

What other life-saving abortions, other than an ectopic pregnancy (tubal pregnancy) is required? I've never heard of an event where a woman was seriously in danger for her life because she was pregnant.

In any event, there are neighboring states that would allow it. I fail to see the issue with Oklahoma being allowed to govern themselves. You don't have to live there if it bothers you.

Oklahoma... one of the states I'll never step foot in again. But I suppose somebody has to keep the SCOTUS busy.
