Give children health care but let them starve? On April 28 of this year Cory Herro reported the following in THINKPROGRESS:

When Congress passed Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act in 2010, it focused primarily on reducing levels of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease — side effects of the bill’s leading target: poverty. The legislation not only improved nutritional standards for school lunches, requiring more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains — it boosted funding for free and reduced-price lunch programs and after-school programs.
The Act improved school nutrition for more than 31 million students nationwide, half of whom live in low income households and qualify for free and reduced-price lunches. For many of these students, free lunches are their only reliable source of food during the week.

House Education and Workforce Committee members defended the new standard, saying it would save taxpayer dollars. “The reforms in this legislation will allow states and schools to better serve their students and families, while also ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent effectively and responsibly,” Rep. John Kline (R) said in a press release.

Rep. Todd Rotika (R) added that the bill would "fight fraud, waste, and abuse."

Aren't the guys recommending this part of your Christian coalition?

If so, your christianity doesn't measure up to Jesus who fed thousands of hungry people without concern that someone might be in His audience who didn't "believe" in Him.

Can't get any more American than that.
Would you be okay if the coach was Muslim and forced the players to pray to Allah even though the majority of them were not Muslim? Would you be okay if every hotel room was filled with the Quran and not the bible? Would you be okay if a police officer or a police cruiser was adorned with the Star of David?

If you said no to any of these you are a hypocrite and totally against the religious freedom you espouse. The U.S. is not, and never has been a Christian nation - get over it. All faiths have a right to be treated equally, without discrimination, and all persons have the right to be served and treated with respect, regardless of the faith of the person serving. It is called equality.

And why?

If the coach was Muslim and wanted to say a prayer of blessing over his players, I have no problem with that. It's no different than if I visit a foreign land and asked to remove my shoes or have to hear words of faith from some priest of another religion. I would show respect for their beliefs. Likewise, when atheist hotheads come into Bible belt communities and demand that we hide our faith from public view because it offends the one person, that's wrong, intolerant and anti-American.

No one is FORCING someone to do a religious act in any of these cases. I don't have a problem with a star of David on the cruiser either. Nothing wrong with showing that you are a person of faith.

The US always has a rich history of being tied to Christianity and basing our standard and laws off the Word of God. What do you sing at the baseball games again? Oh yea "God Bless America".

How about it doesn't look true - not in the religious sense you mean, and never mind the nasty twist it gets from Christian fundamentalists who share the same Love as those who tortured and burned heretics for the good of their souls.

The business of public prayer and religion in schools is of course a Constitutional one, not a demographic one. I don't know when the song was written but I know when "In God We trust" appeared on the dollars. Just because it has been put there doesn't mean there is any good reason it can't be removed, other than lack of public support for doing so. That's what we're working on.

That is only because sin is not agape love. If you use agape love in all your dealings with others you can NOT sin. Only Jesus and God know who is sinning and who is not because only they know what is in their hearts and minds. That is also why we are NOT to judge anyone but ourselves. We ONLY know our own heart and mind. You sin when you treat Gays without agape love because you THINK they are sinning, jeff. It is not your job to judge them or to mistreat or discriminate against them. You are NOT God's judge or enforcer. You have more than enough to do to concern yourself with your own sins (non-agape love).

Since when? The national anthem is "The Star Spangled Banner". Both the national anthem and "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" are traditionally sung at baseball games.
