Very kind of you to pass them along to others. Not everyone has your direct line to the divine.
Why do you call him "jeffy"? Is there a problem with just being nice?

When have I ever suggested that? I said that we may disagree on how exactly to provide for the help that the needy require. That doesn't mean that we don't want to do so, nor does it suggest that we are saying that God doesn't want us to.

Can you please actually consider what we say and not what you THINK we say?

So you claim to know the mind of a god based on a passage attributed to Jesus written 80 - 100 years after his death?

How can any Christian truly know? How can any Christain know with enough certainty to expect or allow their beliefs to affect their fellow man that may not share said beliefs? In my opinion, it's the height of hubris.

What do you base your opinions on? Why or why not should we agree with your beliefs that are based on nothing but your opinion and why should you allow those beliefs to affect your fellow man that may or may not share said beliefs? In my opinion, THAT is the height of hubris.

I don't need to THINK it. I see it in action every day in the news. I see it posted every day here and in the political forum. You preach goodwill but only on your terms.

Why is referring to him as "jeffy" not nice?

Do I whine when you call me "fishguy?" Is that nice...pastor?

Does he want to be called "jeffy"?

If that bothers you I will never refer to you in that manner again.

This is where we differ. My beliefs are not based in mysticism. I think a society's job is to give a helping hand to it's poor and unfortunate. I don't need to see it done in the name of a god. Nor should it. Charity should be given for no other reason than people are in need. The best way to do that fairly on a large scale is through secular government.

So the jet that a mega-church pastor buys is that charity? How about the multi-million dollar mansion?

Religion is the biggest racket ever conceived.
