You DO believe that all human beings should have the same rights, do you not? Regardless of what the circumstances?

Or do you think there should be exceptions.

Everyone should have the same rights , yes . Your problem is you wish to pretend that these gays rights were violated because the dating service didn't offer a product they desired . I think that's hogwash . Their rights were no more violated than they would have been had they wandered into a strip club wanting to see nude men and found only nude women . You want to see nude men strippers , go to the clubs that HAVE nude men strippers . But don't be stupid and go to a club that caters to men wanting to see women strippers and whine how you are being discriminated against because there are no male strippers . It's stupid and whiny , and it's about getting even, not seeking justice .

'basically a club' ?

No, it's not legally a club - it's legally a business.

Private clubs, in the United States anyway, do have latitude to discriminate that businesses which are open to the public do not have. But there are strict rules that govern what constitutes a club. Were there not, it would be too easy for any business to just declare 'we're a club so we get to discriminate!'.

I know that there are a lot of people who are outraged that Christians must adhere to the same laws the rest of us have to obey, but that's how it goes. There are no special rules for Christians to discriminate. Equality, you know?

Geez catch up to the topic . I'm not rehashing something from a hundred posts ago . But yes, it's essentially a dating club . You pay a membership fee, and you get to meet other members based on some sort of profiling algorithm . The site didn't discriminate . They just didn't provide a service that the gays demanded . There is a difference. Learn that . This isn't even about Christianity , but the rights of businesses to determine what products and services they will offer .

Why do you think that Sparks Network proposed the settlement judgement?

Likely because they saw they couldn't win the legal case in CA . As you pointed out , they are apparently not really a Christian owned business but a secular business that seeks out customers among various religious groups .

It will be interesting to see how their business goes now though . Will Christians move on once they discover the site now caters to gays also , and cause financial difficulty ? If someone had the money and know how to start a Christian heterosexual only dating site they could get rich from the ones leaving eharmony and this place .

If someone was so inclined, I would suggest to set up in a country whose laws are amenable to that... say Russia. The internet is international. There may be some Caribbean islands that may have similar laws as Russia.

In our society the courts get to decide whether their rights were violated--not you--or me. If you are unhappy with it, elect Careful Hairful Donnie as President and then petition him about it. He's certainly unafraid to name many groups as enemies of the state--maybe that's what he would do with gays!

Then again, as unpredictable as he is--he may order the dating service to provide a separate but equal service for gays and provide it free for the first year.

When dealing with crackpots, whether religious or not, ya just never know. But for now--the courts are informing the public about what is discrimination and what is not.

No...the "courts" are not doing that.
The biased PEOPLE that make up what is referred to as "The Courts" inform us what they have determined through their biased and prejudicial personal opinion what they think is discrimination.
At the highest level (the SCOTUS Justices) their individual bias is sooooooo well known...you can very, very accurately predict how each Judge will rule on each case.
Very strange that...since they are all working off of the exact same Constitution.
It PROVES the system is so corrupt it is a bogus farce. Their decisions mean squat...except as indicative of how they each personally prefer things to be.
We should put all "society changing" decisions to a referendum of the society to make for itself.
You can never please everyone...so the most fair way is to please the maximum possible. You do that by way of a vote.

You really are easy to see through. When it suits you, it is government decision and Law (like your ridiculous claim that the validity of the Bible is decided by the US administration) but when a it's decision of human rights (which is no more down to a referendum than whether the earth is thousands or millions of years old) that you have some kind of argument with, it becomes a decision of a corrupt legal system that ought to be shouted down by a Bible-waving rentamob.

Fortunately, nobody here is fooled by you.

Ahhh, WTH then. SCOTUS must always have been corrupt, at least since 1803 then. Bugger. No sense living in a country that is ruled by the rule of law.

Define corrupt.
