The proper response I would imagine for surviving a major "act of God," would be to thank God (Allah) for His generosity in allowing you to survive. But what is the proper response when this "act of God" has also killed your entire family?

That's one possible prayer for wind and rain, but it's not the prayer. It's silly to put your own rules on prayer for all. Personal preferences should be kept to.... oneself.

In the bible from Matthew 8:23-27 .....``And when Jesus entered into a ship , his disciples followed him.....And look , there arose a great storm in the sea, as the ship was covered with the waves , but Jesus was asleep ....And his disciple came to him, and awoke him, saying ,` Lord , save us : we perish` .....And Jesus said to them `Why are you fearful you have little faith ?` Then Jesus rose and rebuked the wind and the sea , and there was a great calm .......but the men marveled , saying , `what manner of man is this , that even the winds and the sea obey him!``............................. See Jesus rebuked the storm and the sea , as this storm never came from God , because Jesus would never rebuke the work of God ..........Still there is giant fallen angels which can manipulate the wind and the weather which could be rebuked by God ......
